Wow, I have never been tagged before. But I got stuck with a hard one. Mikelle, why couldn't you tag me for the husband tag? It's easier to talk about why he's wonderful, then why I'm weird. Anyway here is my Quirky Tag:
1. When I make my bed, or any bed for that matter, the pillows, and the comforter have to face a certain way (the opening to the pillow case has to face the edge of the bed and the duvet opening has to face the end of the bed). One time I was helping my friend make her bed and I was like "no, you have to turn the pillows the other way." She just looked at me like I was really weird.
2. I secretly should have been a marriage counselor. I love to talk to people about their marriage, divorce, relationships, etc. Even before I was married I always asked people why they got divorced, what went wrong, what they would have changed, would they go back if they could. I also ask everyone what works in their marriage, and what they might change about it. I'm not sure why, but I find it fascinating! I also love to give people who are struggling in their relationships advice about what I think they should do. I think being a hairstylist has brought this out in me.
3. I can't drink a "regular" drink, or eat "regular" food (Jake told me this). I have to special order everything. I can't drink a diet coke unless it has lots of ice and a lemon. Jake says I have to special order my food too(I can't just say I want a burger and fries). I guess what he's really trying to say is that I'm high maintenance. It drives him crazy anytime we go through a drive through and it takes twice as long because they're making my "special" food.
4. I always start these big, deep conversations with Jake when we go to bed at night. So we end up talking till 2 in the morning. This happens almost every night. It makes him so mad, but he can't help getting into the conversation. I can't help it, cuz when I go to bed at night is when my mind starts going a hundred miles an hour. Plus this is about the only time we ever have to talk about anything!
5. I LOVE old school country music!! I'm talkin the kind most people would rather chop off their right arm than listen to like Johnny Cash (thus my second born child), Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, George Jones, Dwight Yokum, Highwaymen, Merle Haggard, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn (One of my favorite movies is "Cole Miner's Daughter"), you get the idea. It even surprises me how much I really love it. The older and twangier the better. However, I don't really love new country. Some of it's ok, but nothing like the old stuff!!
6. As some members of my family just learned, I am HIGHLY claustrophobic!! As long as I know there is a way out, small spaces are ok, but the minute I feel trapped...the other day at the temple we almost got stuck in the elevator. A temple worker walked in and said she needed the first floor, so my dad starts pushing all these buttons. Well it confused the elevator, and it couldn't decide weather to go up or down. As soon as I thought we might be stuck in there I almost completely lost it. Then my grandpa starts telling this story about being stuck in an elevator for 1hr and 45min. I thought I might smack him. When the doors finally opened (about 2 minutes later) I was pushing people out of the way to get out, including my grandpa who's in a wheelchair, and the temple worker who caused the whole problem.

I'm laughing so hard at the temple story right now. I always miss all the good stuff.
I am so glad you got tagged because I learned some stuff about you. I love, love, love old country also!! Most people think I am nuts, but I love it. I, too am so claustriphobic it is hilarious. I think my breathing quickened just reading your story!! I loved seeing you the other night.
Mikell basically took my post....
I love your temple story! We should have gotten on that elevator ride!
Tara you are so awesome! I'm the same way when i make our bed too, so now i don't feel so weird! It's fun to read everyone's quirks because in a way, it doesn't really make you think they're crazy, just be able to relate to them in another way.
