8 Mile

Now that Aly's a little older, we are in full-swing camping mode! I want to go every weekend. Two weekends ago we went up to 8 Mile so Jake and his buddies could do some trail riding. There were two other families that came the first day and then our friend Bryce came up the second day with two of his kids. The big dogs all went on a nice long trail ride on Saturday, then that night everyone left. We were there alone with just our little family and I have to say, it was pretty nice! Jake took each of the boys on their own little ride up to the lake. Cash and Dad saw some deer, ducks, and a big dragon fly. Calvin and Dad saw lots of ducks. We let the boys try their luck at fishing but, lets just say they're gonna need a lot of practice!! Sunday before we headed out, we took a little detoure up to the ghost town, Gilmore. It was about the same as I remember from when I was a kid, but it was pretty sad. The property is privately owned now, and is being sold off in individual lots. Most of the old buildings were fenced off and you couldn't get in to see them. So we snapped a few pictures and went home. Can't wait for our next trip!
